Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB)

  • The CERB supports Canadians by providing financial support to employed and self-employed Canadians who are directly affected by COVID-19.
  • It provides a payment of $2,000 for a 4-week period (the same as $500 a week) for up to 16 weeks.

BC boosts emergency funding for domestic university students

  • Students attending British Columbia’s 25 public post-secondary institutions, who are experiencing emergency financial pressures, will benefit from a one-time investment of $3.5 million in emergency financial assistance.

  • The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) is offering loans to small businesses to support them during the COVID crisis. This may be of benefit if you or someone you know runs a small business that needs financial assistance during these times.
